Explanation of Fees
Technology Fee supports instructional and informational entrepreneurial efforts and
technology projects related to the academic activities of our students and faculty.
Part-time rate is $11 per credit hour and the full-time flat rate is $132.
Student Services Fee provides funding for a variety of co-curricular services, events
and programming provided primarily through Student Affairs offices. Part-time rate
is $23 per credit hour and the full-time flat rate is $276.
Auxiliary Operating Fee supports the student center, parking facilities and operations,
transportation services, conferences services, campus card operations and the University
System of Maryland-mandated fund balance contribution. Part-time rate is $64 per
credit hour and the full-time flat rate is $768 for 12 or more credits.
Student Government Association Fee supports the student governments, and the part-time
and full-time rate is $25. This is for undergraduate and graduate students.
Student Bar Association Fee supports the Student Bar Association, and the part-time
and full-time rate is $37. This is for law and LL.M. students.
Laboratory fees apply to certain courses. These are used to maintain and upgrade equipment
and licenses and to provide consumable materials necessary for the course. The laboratory
fee varies depending on the course.
A $75 fee may be added to student accounts that are not paid in full by the scheduled
due date for the term.
If you register during the Late Registration Period, you will incur a $20 late fee.
The orientation fee supports expenses related to a variety of new student experiences.
The one-time fee is $55 for undergraduate and graduate students.
The matriculation fee covers administrative costs associated with continued enrollment
and persistence at the University including the fees associated with graduation and
commencement. This is a one-time fee of $140 charged to all students enrolling in
a degree program at the School of Law in their first semester.

All tuition and mandatory fees are due by the due date specified for the term.To ensure proper credit, write your student ID number on all checks and money orders
submitted to the University. You may elect to use the Tuition Payment Plan administered by CashNet. Please contact theOffice of Financial Aidfor information regarding loans, scholarships, etc.
All previous balances must be paid prior to registration for the following academic
semester.Previous balances will prohibit the issue of official transcripts or any other official
evidence of attendance.
You are responsible for all charges incurred for the semesters in which you enroll.If you withdraw (from the University or from a course), you must do so in accordance
with the policies and procedures set forth in the University catalog, the academic
calendar and the refund schedule published by theOffice of the Bursareach semester to have charges adjusted or to not be held liable for charges. If you
do not adhere to the proper withdrawal procedures, you forfeit the right to any adjustment
and waiver of a liability to the University. Refer to refund schedule for dates and
reduction amount. If your account becomes delinquent, the University will pursue collection
of all outstanding balances under regulations of the State of Maryland. Accounts not
paid to the University will be referred to the Central Collection Unit of the State
of Maryland for possible legal action. You are liable for the outstanding balance
and collection costs in an amount approximately equal to 17 percent of the unpaid
balance, and your credit rating will be affected.

Not withstanding any other provision of this or any other University (College) publication,
the University (College) reserves the right to make changes in tuition, mandatory
fees and other charges at any time such changes deemed necessary by the University
(College) and the University System of Maryland Board of Regents.
You are responsible for paying your bill on time. If you do not receive a billing statement at least one week prior to your processing
due date, call the Office of the Bursar at 410.837.4848. Non-delivery of the billing statement does not release you from
the payment or late payment assessments.
