Digital forensics plays a critical role in the world of modern criminal investigations. Our Bachelor of Science in Cyber Forensics program will help you develop the practical and professional skills needed by employers in today's digital forensics, cybersecurity and law enforcement sectors.
As the character and reach of cybercrime continues to evolve, so does the demand for qualified cyber forensics professionals. The B.S. in Cyber Forensics program—the first of its kind in Maryland—exposes students to the acquisition, analysis and evaluation of data recovered from computers and digital devices to establish factual evidence to be used in a court of law. Our labs host professional digital forensic tools, including EnCase, FTK, Paraben, Cellebrite UFED Mobile, Oxygen and other industry standard tools. Additionally, we are delighted to offer our students remote lab access via Virtual Machine by eLumin.
Designed in collaboration with community college cybercrime, cybersecurity and cyber forensic technology programs, this program is ideally suited to A.A. and A.S. graduates seeking to advance their education by completing a bachelor’s degree. Furthermore, our undergraduate program serves as an ideal stepping stone to advanced study into our M.S. in Cyber Forensics program.
The B.S. in Cyber Forensics program will prepare you for job opportunities such as:
cyber defense forensics analyst | forensic examiner |
cyber investigator | health care fraud management |
cyber threat investigator | intelligence analyst |
cybersecurity investigator/analyst | intelligence research specialist/analyst |
digital forensic analyst | senior network and threat specialist |
We offer flexible options for completing your B.S. in Cyber Forensics degree requirements. Students can complete their upper-level major requirements fully online, in-person, or a combination of both. Some qualified transfer students may be able to complete the requirements for this bachelor’s degree entirely online. (NOTE: Coursework outside of the major may not be offered online.)
This program is designed specifically for students who lead busy lives or live and work far from UBalt's Baltimore campus.
Why Choose UBalt?
Maryland is one of the top employing regions for forensic science investigators in the U.S., with the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area ranking fourth in the country. Forensic investigators may seek employment in local, state and federal governments, corporate and private businesses, financial institutions, hospitals, schools and non-profit organizations. But the increased demand for hires in the area of computer and digital forensic investigation surpasses the current capacity of qualified workers.
Our Bachelor of Science in Cyber Forensics program—which is supported by Governor Hogan’s multi-million dollar Workforce Development Initiative—fills a significant gap in cyber forensics undergraduate education in Maryland.
With this bachelor’s degree, you’ll find yourself in high demand.
