Get the cross-cultural preparation you need to thrive in an international workforce.

Today’s companies that employ Industrial and Organizational Psychologists typically have global connections, whether the company is multinational or the company has international partners, vendors or consumers. These companies benefit greatly from having IO psychology professionals who are prepared to consult to such organizations that transcend national boundaries.

If you've earned or are earning your master's degree in industrial and organizational psychology (IOP), this 12-credit post-baccalaureate certificate program provides you with credentials that emphasize your experience in global IOP.

Global and Intercultural Fluency

What is Global/Intercultural Fluency?

Global/intercultural fluency is now one of the most valued skills among the increasingly globalized workplace. Research done by the British Council about the importance of culture at work shows the real business value and benefits of staff who have the ability to work with other individuals and organizations from different cultural backgrounds. Employers have highlighted the importance of demonstrating respect for other cultures and having the ability to understand different cultural contexts as a path to success.

Students Who Study Abroad Fare Better in Job Market

Voice of America

“We believe always as educators, and as scholars, that we grow from interaction with others,” said Sri Zaheer, dean of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. “We grow from ideas from working off the developments of others. That’s how knowledge advances.”

“We’re not just concerned about a particular country or a particular state,” she added. “We are concerned about our impact on society and our impact on the world. And the only way we can do it is through better collaboration.”

About UBalt

EMPOWERING YOUR FUTURE

When you graduate, you’ll be prepared to work for businesses, nonprofit organizations and government agencies that deal in, represent or interact with artists and the arts—perhaps in addition to managing your own freelance artistic career. You’ll also be well prepared for graduate-level study in business and the arts.

You’ll take courses in:

  • arts production and performance
  • history, appreciation and analysis of the arts
  • government and business as they relate to the arts
  • technology’s impact on and importance to the arts.

With UBalt’s location between the Station North Arts and Entertainment District and the Mount Vernon Cultural District, the neighborhood is your laboratory, and this program will allow you opportunities to work with the city’s theaters, museums, galleries, musical venues and arts advocacy groups, shadowing and assisting artists, attending exhibits and performances, and interning with an artist or arts-related organization.

What Our Graduates Do

Throughout the program, you’ll make connections with artists in your desired industry. Our graduates go onto work in some of these high-visibility fields throughout the arts industry.
