The annual Eubie Awards highlight and celebrate student accomplishments and contributions to leadership, campus life and The University of Baltimore community. Students, student organizations, faculty, and staff are recognized for their investment in co-curricular programs and their commitment to improving the campus experience for all. The award winners are nominated by students, faculty or staff at The University of Baltimore. All nominations are then reviewed and voted on by a committee.

President's Award
Presented to a graduating senior and a graduating graduate student who demonstrates academic excellence (3.75 GPA or higher) and makes outstanding contributions in student activities AND community outreach activities which bring credit to The University of Baltimore.
Student Services Award
Presented to two seniors and two graduate students, who are graduating and in good academic standing (at least 2.0), who have made outstanding contributions to student activities and/or community outreach activities, which bring credit to The University of Baltimore.
Sigma Alpha Omicron Award
Presented to three students, graduate and/or undergraduate and in good academic standing (at least 2.0), who have made significant contributions to student life at The University of Baltimore through student government or student activities.
Gabriel Aguirre Award
Presented to a non-Student Government Association student (undergraduate, graduate or law) who has made outstanding contributions to student life at The University of Baltimore. The award is given in honor of the late Gabriel Aguirre, a former UBalt student who provided outstanding service to the UBalt community.
Beth Mizell Grit Award
Presented to a UBalt student who has demonstrated hard work, resilience and passion in the pursuit of their education at The University of Baltimore. Recipients exhibit a commitment to excellence exemplified by achievements accomplished through character, grit and perseverance over adversity and should be in good academic standing (GPA 2.0 or better).
Student Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Award
Presented to a student in good academic and disciplinary standing (at least 2.5 for Undergraduate Students and 3.0 for Graduate Students) who have demonstrated a sincere commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) by meeting one or more of the following criteria:
Rising Star Award
Presented to a freshman or sophomore student who has shown great drive and commitment to student engagement at The University of Baltimore. This student demonstrates a potential for leadership and has made a significant contribution on campus.
Mental Health Ally Award
This award, offered in partnership with the Office of Student Support, recognizes a student who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to mental health advocacy for The University of Baltimore and/or the greater Baltimore City community.
Bee Engaged Award
The Bee Engaged award recognizes a student for their commitment to service‐learning and community engagement.
Student Employee of the Year Award
The Student Employee of the Year Award recognizes undergraduate and graduate student employees. The nominees all will have worked for a campus employer for at least six months over the past year. Nominees are selected based on the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Core Competencies of communication, critical thinking, equity and inclusion, leadership, professionalism, teamwork, and technology.
*Please note that all award nominees must be non-law student organizations that are recognized through the Center for Student Engagement and Inclusion.
Student Organization of the Year Award
This award recognizes a student organization and has been in existence for more than one academic year. The award recognizes a student organization that has impacted the UBalt community through membership development, leadership, programming, and service. In addition, the organization has made a consistent contribution to campus life.
On the Move Award
This award is given to a student organization that has been in existence for less than three years and has made significant contributions toward improving campus life, student engagement and inclusion at UBalt.
Event or Initiative of the Year Award
This award is presented to a student organization for a specific event or initiative that has bettered campus life at UBalt. Students may be advised by professional staff but planning and implementation must be executed primarily by students. The event or initiative should demonstrate excellence in programming, achieve its outcomes and should exemplify outstanding creativity or introduce new approaches.

Presented to a student organization that has demonstrated a sincere commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) by meeting one or more of the following criteria:
Bee Engaged Award
The Bee Engaged award recognizes a student organization for their commitment to service‐learning and community engagement.
Lifetime Achievement Award
This award recognizes a faculty or staff member who has been employed at UBalt for at least five years and demonstrates outstanding service distinctly above and beyond the call of duty to students and the UBalt community.
UBalt Connects Mentor of the Year Award
This award recognizes a UBalt Connects Mentor for their integral role in growing a culture of mentorship at UBalt through the time and dedication they have put in to creating a successful mentee/mentor relationship. This faculty or staff member has demonstrated a commitment to developing an engaged and connected campus with UBalt Connects. Through their valuable service to the program has exceeded expectations of the program and ultimately served the greater UBalt community.
Advisor of the Year Award
This award is given to a student organization advisor who has made a significant and positive impact on a UBalt student organization. Any student organization advisor who has served for at least one year is eligible for this award.
Mental Health Ally Award
This award, offered in partnership with the Office of Student Support, recognizes one staff member and one faculty member who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to mental health advocacy for The University of Baltimore and/or the greater Baltimore City community.
Bee Engaged Award
The Bee Engaged award recognizes one staff member, one faculty member, and one community partner for their commitment to service‐learning and community engagement.
