Waivers and Substitutions
Courses transferred from other institutions that are not specifically covered by articulation agreements may be approved for use as part of an individual student’s General Education provided the goals and purpose of the course closely match the courses the student would have taken at the University of Baltimore. A UBalt transfer, program, or other appropriate advisor determines whether the transferred course can be approved to fulfill a General Education requirement. A student may appeal the decision to the General Education Council Chair in writing.
Similarly, individual prerequisite or co-requisite courses for a General Education course may be waived provided the student can demonstrate equivalent experience, skills, or abilities as would be required for success in the course through testing, certification, a portfolio of work, or other means deemed appropriate by appropriate advisors in consultation with the Council.
