Downsizing the Printer Footprint with Centralized Printing

With this new standardized printer model, OTS is committed to downsizing its printer footprint by introducing a centralized printing shared model. This initiative will reduce the need for individual desktop printers, encouraging departments to utilize shared resources more efficiently.

For departments that feel an individual desktop printer is necessary, requests will be reviewed by OTS on a case-by-case basis. If you believe your department requires a desktop printer, please submit a request using the following form: Request a Desktop Printer

OTS has introduced a 3-year lease model available through our MEEC vendor, Daly Computing. This lease includes:
  • Next-day service to minimize downtime for maintenance or repairs.
  • Toner included throughout the lease period, simplifying supplies management.

This model ensures that departments have access to up-to-date printing technology with consistent support.

As part of this effort to improve campus services, OTS has implemented PaperCut, a new campus-wide print management system. PaperCut offers several key features to enhance both convenience and security:
  • Secure Printing: Users must authenticate at the printer to release print jobs, ensuring document confidentiality.
  • Print Release from Any Shared Printer: Users can send print jobs from any location and release them at any shared printer on campus that supports PaperCut, providing flexibility for document retrieval.

Printer Support

OTS provides basic support for the setup and use of campus networked and non-networked printers. It is the responsibility of each department to contact their vendor of choice for repair.
