We are pleased to announce availability of funds to support volunteer and multicultural experiences in a foreign country.
A one-time maximum award of up to $1,500 is applied to the registration/program costs. Approximately six awards are available for each trip in summer and winter breaks.
Through the service-abroad experience, students will be expected to:
Denit Honors students who have been enrolled in the Helen P. Denit Honors Program for a minimum of two semesters, are in good academic standing and have a valid passport (as defined by the country visiting) are eligible to apply.
The application process requires a one-page essay explaining why the experience will be academically, personally and/or professionally valuable and how it will integrate and enhance coursework and areas of interest. The student must include a social security number for payment.
Within 30 days after the experience, the student agrees to submit photos and a one- to three-page letter outlining the experience and how it has helped them to better achieve academic, personal and/or professional goals.

A maximum award of $750 is available per Denit Honors student to be applied to conference registration and a portion of travel expenses. Approximately four individual awards are available per academic year.
Through conference participation and presentation, students will be expected to:
Denit Honors students who have been enrolled in the Helen P. Denit Honors Program for a minimum of one semester, are in good academic standing and are presenting at a conference are eligible to apply. Students attending a conference but not presenting are ineligible.
The application process requires a one-page essay explaining why the experience will be academically, personally and/or professionally beneficial and how the experience will integrate and enhance coursework. Please include the honors conference dates and location and an outline of the research to be presented with the essay.
Within 30 days after the experience, the student agrees to submit photos and a one- to three-page letter outlining the experience and how it has helped them to better achieve academic, personal and/or professional goals.

We are pleased to announce availability of funds to support study abroad opportunities. The Study Abroad Award is a collaborative partnership with UBalt's Merrick School of Business; it supports student academic experiences that connect to course-based learning while abroad.
A one-time maximum award of $1,000 applied to pre-approved study abroad costs, after the student makes the initial deposit, is available. Approximately three individual awards are available per academic year.

The application process requires a one-page essay explaining why the student is a good candidate for this opportunity, why the experience will be academically, personally and/or professionally valuable and how the experience will integrate with and enhance coursework and areas of interest. Please include course dates, location and academic schedule of the study-abroad experience with the essay.
Within 30 days after the experience, successful applicants must submit photos and a one- to three-page letter outlining the experience and how it has helped them to better achieve academic, personal and professional goals. The award will be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid and may affect the student's financial aid award.

Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis because numerous business school-sponsored study-abroad trips are scheduled throughout the academic year; however, the completed application must be submitted to the Office of the Helen P. Denit Honors Program at least 60 days prior to the first deposit due date for the trip. The student must include a social security number with the application.
Funds are available to members of the Helen P. Denit Honors program in their junior or senior year who wish to complete an internship at a nonprofit organization that does not offer paid internships. Students who qualify may be awarded a maximum of $1,800 for a semester internship, deliverable in two payments.

When you graduate, you’ll be prepared to work for businesses, nonprofit organizations and government agencies that deal in, represent or interact with artists and the arts—perhaps in addition to managing your own freelance artistic career. You’ll also be well prepared for graduate-level study in business and the arts.

With UBalt’s location between the Station North Arts and Entertainment District and the Mount Vernon Cultural District, the neighborhood is your laboratory, and this program will allow you opportunities to work with the city’s theaters, museums, galleries, musical venues and arts advocacy groups, shadowing and assisting artists, attending exhibits and performances, and interning with an artist or arts-related organization.
