Get your career started at Maryland's #1 forensic science college.

The University of Baltimore is ranked the No. 1 forensic science college in Maryland for 2021 by Universities.com.

Whether you’re interested in traditional forensic science or digital forensics, The University of Baltimore’s School of Criminal Justice offers a variety of undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs that can help you prepare to pursue or advance your forensics career.

For more than 15 years, we have provided students with an applied forensic science education that integrates academic and professional skills.

Our undergraduate programs are designed to prepare students to be field-ready upon graduation, and successfully compete for immediate employment in the digital forensics or forensic science fields.

Our graduate program prepares students to meet the growing demand for highly skilled cybersecurity and cyber investigation experts in both the public and private sectors. Job openings are prevalent, and the average salary for cybersecurity and cyberintelligence professionals in the greater Baltimore-Washington, D.C.-Northern Virginia area is more than $96,000 for the private sector ($75k for government).

And our two 12-credit certificate programs, which can be completed in one year or less, are ideal if you don't have a science degree and are looking for an alternative path to becoming a crime scene investigator or forensic document examiner.

We have three state-of-the-art forensic laboratories—including a crime-scene room and a computer lab with professional digital forensic tools—that allow students to gain hands-on experience with sophisticated equipment.

Our faculty are leading forensic science experts who bring specialized knowledge to the classroom, in areas such as trace evidence, network forensics, cryptography, cybersecurity, computer crime, law and much more.
