Students are responsible for purchasing their commencement regalia and can do so in one of two ways- the bookstore or online. Regalia will be available for purchase online at the dates specified on the Commencement Information Page. Students from Universities at Shady Grove will be contacted regarding how they can order regalia.
The Hive also has announcements, gifts, frames, and other items for graduates. Visit
the bookstore website or visit the store for details.
Regalia Prices: Please note that these are updated the semester once regalia is made available to
purchase. The prices below are for the bookstore, and the online prices are slightly higher.
Prices are subject to change and will be updated closer to when regalia is made available.
Prices below are for Spring 2024. Prices for Spring 2025 will be posted by early March 2025.
Reduced Price Regalia
The request for reduced price regalia form will be open in March prior to Grad Fest.
The form will stay open until all regalia is claimed. Students will be emailed if
they have recieved reduced price regalia with instructions to claim. Please visit
the main commencement page to apply during the limited time frame.
Cords and Stoles
Cords and stoles for student or national organizations are handled by the individual
honors organizations. Students may wear any cords or stoles they wish on commencement
day. For more information about receiving these items, please be in contact with the
specific organization advisor.
Helen P. Denit Honors students will be given their cords on stage.
The Hive also offers a variety of optional stoles for students to choose from, see above.
Class Rings, Frames, and Announcements
Rings, frames, and announcements can be ordered through Herff Jones.
