IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SPRING 2025 COMMENCEMENT

DATES AND DEADLINES

Commencement date and time

Wednesday, May 21

The Lyric Baltimore

Start time: 
10 a.m. (Graduate)

*Students must arrive by 8:30 a.m. for 10 a.m. ceremony to the Lyric basement entrance on Maryland Ave.

2 p.m. (Undergrad)

*Students must arrive by 12:30 p.m. for 2 p.m. ceremony to the Lyric basement entrance on Maryland Ave.

Apply to be a Commencement Speaker

Apply between Nov. 4-Mar. 14, applications due at 12 p.m. (noon)

Deadline to Apply to Graduate with Records and Registration for those wishing to Participate in the Commencement Ceremony
Please note that for those who applied by the deadline, your name will appear in the program as it does in your MyUBalt Portal. Starting in March, email engagement@ubalt.edu if you would request a different name than what is in your MyUBalt portal for the program.  All other information (honors, veteran status, etc.) is received from other offices so please ensure that you are checking your email and doing any follow up with those advisors as necessary.

Summer & Fall 2024 Graduates: Apply by Sept. 3 to avoid a late fee with Records and Registration.

Spring 2025 Graduates: Apply by Feb. 3 to avoid a late fee with Records and Registration.

Any students that apply for graduation after Apr. 4 are still eligible to participate in Commencement if approved through Records & Registration. However, these students who apply late will not be listed in the program that is printed and handed out at Commencement.

Complete a Commencement Appeal to Participate
The Procedure for Commencement Appeals is for students requesting to participate in a different commencement term. Please only fill out for the term in which you are wishing to participate in.

Please note that those approved to participate in an earlier ceremony should not yet apply to Graduate with Records and Registration as explained above until the semester that they are taking their final courses.

Grad Fest including Commencement Cap & Gown Photos

Planning to participate in the Spring 2025 Commencement, or just want to get ready to celebrate? Grad Fest is a celebration of graduates that is held each semester that includes food, giveaways, graduate photos from GradImages (cap and gown supplied for the photos) as well as tablinjg from the regalia vendor and various campus departments. Sign up on Bee Involved as soon as registration opens. Walk ups welcome if spots allow.

For Summer & Fall 2024 Graduates:

  • Dec. 5, 4-7 p.m.

For Summer 2024, Fall 2024, and Spring 2025 Graduates:

  • Mar. 11, 12-4 p.m.
  • Mar. 12, 3-7 p.m.

Tickets Available to Claim Online Via Marching Order With Unique E-mail Invitation

The UBalt.edu email address is used for logging in and accessing tickets on ubalt.marchingorder.com. Learn more about commencement tickets.

Request Seating for Persons with Disabilities at Commencement

*After this date guests are instructed to speak with the Commencement staff on site for any day of accomodations.

Commencement Regalia (Cap and Gown) Available for Purchase

Request reduced price regalia (Bachelor and Master students only). The request for reduced price regalia form will be open in March prior to Grad Fest. The form will stay open until all regalia is claimed. Students will be emailed if they have recieved reduced price regalia with instructions to claim.

Dates TBA*

Purchase at The Hive, University Bookstore, at the UBalt Student Center. Hours: Mon.-Thur. 12-5:30 p.m., Fri. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Doctoral candidates must purchase regalia in store by Apr. 4. Bookstore number (410) 837-6165.

Purchase regalia online. Please note if you purchase regalia online it will not be mailed to you until 5-10 days prior to the ceremony. Therefore please plan accordingly.
