University of Baltimore School of Law's Pro Bono Challenge is a partnership between
the Law Career Development Center and other members of the public interest community
to offer students pro bono service opportunities.
Participating students will receive a certificate recognizing their service based
on hours contributed, an achievement that can be noted on a resume. The minimum commitment
is 20 hours.
To qualify for the challenge, the hours of service must be:
for the benefit of persons of limited means, or for organizations that are non-profit and charitable, religious, civic, community, governmental and educational organizations in matters that are designed primarily to address the needs of persons of limited means;
law-related and performed under the supervision of a licensed attorney or law faculty member; and
without benefit to the student, i.e., academic credit or compensation.
*Please note that clinical experience, judicial internships, work with a State's Attorney's Office or the Attorney General's Office, and credited externships do not qualify as pro-bono experience.
To submit your pro bono hours, logon to UB Law Connect and create a Pro Bono profile
in the Field Placements module.
Questions re pro bono should be directed to Liz Solar.
