It is important to verify your financial aid and bill each semester!

Understanding the relationship between your financial aid and your bill is important. Obtaining a degree can be expensive, so you should ensure the following are accurate by reviewing your MyUBalt Portal each semester:

You will also want to ensure your financial aid is reflective of the number of credits for which you are enrolled. Your financial aid will credit to your account balance in accordance with the financial aid calendar.

If your financial aid is less than the total charges on your account, you will need to come up with a plan to pay the remaining charges. This could include visiting the Office of Financial Aid to inquire about other aid options, searching for scholarships, enrolling in a payment plan, or getting a part-time job to help with the expenses. If you are receiving a Pell Grant, it alone will not cover the cost of your tuition regardless of the number of credits you take.

If your financial aid is more than your charges, the Office of the Bursar will request a refund for you shortly after disbursement which is sent from the Comptroller of Maryland in Annapolis.

Should you have any questions about your bill or refund, contact the Office of the Bursar.
