What do I need to do to apply?

You don't have any time to waste, so we made applying to UBalt as simple as possible.

1. Submit a transfer application.

2. Pay the $35 nonrefundable application fee.

3. Send official transcripts from all colleges attended to documents@ubalt.edu (electronic versions preferred). 

4. International students have additional admission requirements.
5. Need to apply by mail? Download the required forms and send your application.

Am I eligible to apply?

You can apply as a transfer student if you’ve earned 30 or more college-level credits and have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Maryland Community College graduates who transfer directly to UBalt are guaranteed admission.

If you have fewer than 30 credits, you may apply as a first-time undergraduate. However, it’s often best to wait until you’ve completed 30 credits. Contact an admission counselor for more details. 

Do any majors have specific admission requirements?

Yes! Some programs have additional requirements:

• Accounting: 2.5 GPA
• Accounting, Online Degree Completer Program: 2.5 GPA and an AA or AS degree in Business from a Maryland Community College preferred
• Accounting (Certificate): Bachelor's Degree
• Cyber Forensics: 2.75 GPA
• Cybersecurity (Certificate): an AA degree (or 60 credits) or higher
• General Business, Online Degree Completer Program: An AA or AS degree in Business from a Maryland Community College preferred
• Finance: 2.25 GPA
• Forensic Studies: 2.75 GPA
• Health Management (Universities at Shady Grove Campus applicants only): 56 credits
• Philosophy, Law, and Ethics: 3.0 GPA
• Simulation and Game Design (Universities at Shady Grove Campus applicants only): 56 credits + pre-requisite coursework.

When should I apply?

Apply as early as possible! We review applications and notify applicants on a rolling basis.
