Reporting of Bias Experiences

All members of the University community, including students, staff, faculty, visitors, vendors, and contractors who experience or become aware of a possible bias experience are asked to report the concern using this form, or report directly to one of the following designated University offices:

The University office receiving the report shall then notify the Bias Experience Support Team.

Once the Bias Experience Support Team becomes aware of an alleged concern, the report will be reviewed.  The team will then determine the appropriate response, which may include outreach to the parties negatively affected, the provision of resources for support, facilitated dialogue, or educational opportunities.

There may be instances when a reported experience is best addressed through a University non-discrimination policy.  Where this occurs, the experience will be reported to the appropriate office with jurisdiction of the policy.  Conversely, situations initially reported as non-discrimination that do not to violate such policies will be referred to the Bias Experience Support Team.  The reporting party will be consulted prior to referral.
